Tack GPS Firmware Update

How do I update the firmware of my Tack GPS? Why is it important?

Our team at Tack is constantly looking to improve our GPS devices through firmware updates, which are necessary to enable our devices to operate proficiently as well as to fix bugs for better security. Therefore, we highly recommend updating your firmware to the latest version when applicable.


For Tack GPS app users:

You will be notified of new firmware update on the dashboard via a red icon beside the device setting icon. Tap on the device setting icon and follow the instructions on app to update the firmware.

 

For OurSphere app users:

Navigate to Device Preferences, and tap on "Firmware Update". Follow in-app instructions, and receive a notification when device firmware is updated successfully.

Note:

1. For updating firmware via the app, please also check that:

i. Bluetooth on your phone where app is running must be turned ON

ii. Hotspot on your phone where app is running must be turned OFF

For firmware downloading, please note that the Tack tracker can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi. 

iii. if you are unable to find the 2.4Ghz WiFi on your home WiFi to connect to, you can update the firmware by using your phone's hotspot.

iv. If using hotspot from another phone please check that Extend Compatibility /Compatibility mode/ 2.4GHz WiFi is turned on from the phone's hotspot settings

2. Alternatively you may also update the firmware via our web portal:

i. login to member.oursphere.app using the same user email and password for the app

ii. click on firmware update on top right corner,


iii. follow the on-screen instruction

For firmware downloading, please note that the Tack tracker can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi. 

iv. if you are unable to find the 2.4Ghz WiFi on your home WiFi to connect to, you can update the firmware by using another phone's hotspot.

v. If using hotspot from another phone please check that Extend Compatibility /Compatibility mode/ 2.4GHz WiFi is turned on from the phone's hotspot settings
